Determination principle: The water sample to be tested is pretreated. Under weak acid conditions, cyanide reacts with chloramine T to generate cyanogen chloride, which then reacts with isonicotinic acid. The hydrolysis product reacts with barbituric acid to generate a purple-blue compound. The absorbance is detected by spectrophotometry, and the concentration of cyanide in the water sample is calculated.
